Sometimes, the oldest fire fighting methods are the most effective, so it's no surprise that fire hoses remain a key element of modern fire fighting equipment. Fire hoses are extremely effective in extinguishing fires involving paper, cardboard, cloth, carpet or wood, so are ideal for use in theatres, schools, fabric warehouses and wood stores.
Fire hose reels keep your fire hose neat and tidy, yet easily accessible in the event of an emergency. Most reels for offices and other buildings take either standard 19mm fire hose, or the larger 25mm hose. The fire hose reel can be fixed flush to the wall, or on a swinging bracket, allowing the hose to be pulled in any direction within 180 degrees. Swinging fire reels can also be mounted on a pedestal.
Manual and Automatic Fire Hose Reels
Both manual and automatic fire reels require the user to pull out the hose by hand; the 'automatic' feature refers to the valve, not the recoiling of the hose! With an automatic hose reel, the user simply twists the nozzle to liberate a continuous jet of water that will travel up to 12 metres.
Essential Fire Safety fire hose reels are not supplied with hose, so you can choose from 19mm or 25mm, according to your requirements. Some reels include jet nozzles and some do not, so we also stock a range for you to choose from. Remember to order a hose reel cover too, to keep your fire hose in pristine condition.
