A Dorgard puts an end to the fire safety nightmare of fire doors wedged open, or the expense and time-consuming installation of magnetic door holders.
The battery-powered Dorgards screw unobtrusively to the back of your fire door. Open the door, push down the top knob with your foot, and the Dorgard rubber foot grips the floor to hold the door ajar. However, if a fire alarm of 65 dbs or more sounds for longer than 14 seconds, the Dorgard will detect the noise, release the foot, and the door will shut automatically.
If your floor surface is slippery, such as wood, laminate or vinyl, each Dorgard comes with a floorplate, which can be secured with just four screws. The plate's recess catches the Dorgard's foot, holding it firm until it is released.
Coloured Dorgards
Dorgards are available in a variety of colours and finishes, including black, brown, brass and red. Two C-sized batteries are included, which should be replaced every year as part of your regular fire safety maintenance programme. We also recommend that you replace the Dorgard's rubber foot at this time, to prevent wear and door slippage.
