Fire Escape Ladder
If fire breaks out on a stairwell, and you don't live on the ground floor, a fire escape ladder may just be your quickest route to safety.
In older premises, not all first or second floor flats are equipped with an external fire escape. So, if a fire does block your route to the ground floor, the only exit route available may be out via the windows.
Modern fire escape ladders are made from rigid aluminium, so they are lightweight but very strong. They remain safely stored away in their box until needed. Then, simply hook the brackets over the window sill to touch the wall inside, roll out the ladder down the outside wall, and climb down to safety using the chain-suspended rungs.
Fire Escape Ladder Sizes
Essential Fire Safety stock two lengths of aluminium fire ladder; a 4.5 metre version for first floor rooms, and a 7.5 metre version for second storey rooms.
Every year, Essential Fire Safety sell many of these high quality, low cost fire ladders to concerned parents of students living in shared or rented accommodation. While all rented student housing should be fully compliant with fire regulations, the presence of a fire ladder reassures parents that if fire did break out, their son or daughter could escape.
