Due to the power saving, this one operates with eight of the AA batteries to save money and weight .

The power levels of megaphones are confusing as it is the build quality and the amplifier, where fitted, that controls the sound level. This model is a very good quality and has three settings of voice/off, siren and whistle (more of an electronic screech!) along with a very helpful battery indicator.
